They were biting this morning up north. We set up off the bank. The water was warm, 61 degrees 70 down on our Fish Hawk. We lost our first fish. It hit a Super Slim UV Beefeater stacked above a big 11″ White Slick Dreamweaver Paddle. We had a Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans stacked 10 feet above a standard DW Green Skinny Jeans down 90 feet on our starboard out down. It went 4 times. Our port out down had a pair of standard Fuzzy Bear Yellowtails. They went twice. Our top rod was a 225 copper with a Super Slim Super Bread. It took 3 mature Kings. It was a spoon bite early so we pulled the Paddle off the chute rigger and replaced it with a standard DW UV Beefeater. We put it down 105 and we took a fish and lost a fish on it. We had one of Dreamweaver’s new Flip Fin White Crush Two Face Paddles trailed by a Pickled Sunshine Fly out 170 on a low wire Deeper Diver. It went 4 times and took 2 of our 6 mature Kings. A little later in the morning we put a Chrome Two Face Flip Fin Paddle/ Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 180 on our other low wire Deeper Diver. It took a mature King and we missed another fish on it. We fish our spoons faster than flashers, but the new Flip Fin Paddles work well at spoon speed. We moved out to deeper water and slowed our speed a little. We put out an 8″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 300 on a high wire diver. We took a Coho and lost a fish on it. We ran one meat rig 110 down on our chute rigger toward the end of the trip. It didn’t take a fish but the mag DW Spotted Dolphin stacked above it did. Our crew held up well and did a great job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper and wire.
