We set up in 100 feet of water south of Ludington. Surface temp was 68.9 . Temp at 70 feet was 52 degrees on our Fish Hawk. The waves had a lot of west in them so our south troll turned into a trough troll. We hit our first fish early. It came on a low wire Deeper Diver out 135 with a mag Green Glow spoon. The King didn’t want to come to the boat, but after a long fight we did boat him. We had good early action. At one point we had 5 fish on and landed 3 of them. Our chute rigger that was so good yesterday with the big Paddle only went once today and the fish took the standard Dreamweaver Soda spoon stack. Our out down with the DW Soda spoon took one of bigger Kings. We had trouble getting fish to stick on our divers. We had several fish hit, rip out wire, and get off. Starboard high wire diver out 210 had an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire Deeper Diver out 135 started out with a mag Green Glow and then we swapped it out for a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. Our port high wire diver out 180 with an 8″ Double Chrome Spin Doctor/black and red meat rig was our best diver. We had bites on a 10 color core with a Modified Coyote, a 200 with a mag Green Shorts, a 255 with a standard Fuzzy Bear Arlo, a 300 with a mag Fuzzy Bear Arlo and a 350 with an 8″ Spin Doctor/green teaser rig. A big thank you to Fisherman Extraordinaire Steve Johnson for coming out of retirement and bringing his bag of tricks filling in for 1st mate Abe who had the weekend off. It was fun fishing with him. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
