The best fishing out of the port of Ludington continues to be offshore. The water is cold up north and the fish are scattered. The forecasted south wind my improve conditions up there. We fished southwest of Ludington setting up in the 54’s and 38’s west. We put it on a 270 troll and stared putting out lines. It didn’t take long to get a fish on. A small salmon hit a pair of regular size DW Green Skinny Jeans on an out down set at 50 feet. That rod went a couple more times early, but cooled off later in the morning. We trolled out to the 42’s west having decent action. We trolled back in to the 38’s and took a few fish on the in troll. When we turned back to make our out troll we put it on a 240 troll and that was our best troll of the day. Our hot rod for the day was a 5 color core with a Super Slim Goldilocks . Our biggest fish was a King (pictured below) that came on a 10 color core with a regular size Dreamweaver Beefeater spoon. A Super Slim Modified Blue Dolphin on a 150 copper was good and our biggest Steelhead came a Super Slim Hello Darlin with a glow tail on a 10 color core. We made it as far south as the 51’s and as far west as the 42’s.
