We have had the last 3 days off due to high winds and big waves. The Lake was a lot nicer today but there were still some pretty good rollers from the southwest. We went south of Ludington setting up in 100 feet of water. We had good down temp on our Fish Hawk, 46 degrees 70 down and a few fish on our graph. We hit a fish before all our rods were set. It was a good size Lake Trout on a high wire diver ticking bottom with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig with glow wings. That one just hit the deck when our other high wire fired with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Green Glow WhirlyGig. After a good fight it escaped. Next rod to go was a 200 copper with a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Cut Plug. It fought like a King but turned out to be a big Steelhead. We boated 3 more Trout. Two on our riggers another one on a high wire and lost another one on a rigger. We just started making our turn back north when the rollers got to be too much for the youngest member of our crew. We pulled lines at 8:00 a.m. and headed home.
