We fished south of Ludington today setting up in 100 feet of water . We had four divers set, two out downs, & one 175 copper set when we hit our first fish. It was a big King on an out down set at 65 with a Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans free sliding above a DW Green Skinny Jeans. The other out down went with a pair of DW UV Super Breads. That one got off. The King on the other out down was almost to the boat when a high wire out 185 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine DW Meat Rig took off. It went right across the first King and cut it off. A low wire out 115 with a 10″ White Atomic Killer/Green Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig went. The high wire on the other side fired with the same rig that was on the other high wire. It was chaos. The 175 copper with a SS Rasta Goose went with another King. We landed the King on the low wire, reset it and it went as soon as soon as it got to 85 ft. We still had one low wire that hadn’t been bit. It was a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig. It finally went with another big King. After a long fight two of our wire divers crossed a one fish got sawed off. We managed to get five mature kings in the box. The biggest was a hair under 27 lbs. The action this morning remined me of the old days when more Kings were being planted. After the morning flurry we put our Trout rigs down. The waves were 3 ft. plus and it was hard to keep our rigs on the bottom. We ended up making an up wind troll out a little deeper. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull Morgan’s Tackle cooper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
