We fished south of Ludington again today setting up in 110 feet of water. We were in the same approximate area as yesterday where we had great early action. We had all our riggers & divers set and a couple coppers out when we had a bite on an out down set at 45 ft. with a pair of UV DW Super Breads. It wasn’t on long and was gone. Our other out down set at 55 with a fresh Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans free sliding above a DW Green Skinny Jeans. I say fresh because our hot set got sawed off yesterday. Anyway, the fish took a good run and got off. Our chute rigger was next. We had a 10″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Porotype WhirlyGig bouncing bottom. A Trout hit but it got off too. Not off to a very good start. The screen on our graph was pretty clean, no bait and very few marks. Made a slight turn to check out a little deeper when our low wire diver out 75 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig took off. It was a nice King and we got it. The board on our 200 copper with a glow spoon was dragging back. We reeled it in to check it and it had a small King on it. Our high wire diver out 135 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Meat Rig fired with another mature King. Then the 200 copper took off with a big hit. It made a strong run and broke off. We landed the King on the diver. We moved out deeper and put down a few Trout rigs. Our best was an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Prototype WhirlyGig on a low wire ticking bottom. It took 3 or 4 of our Trout. The rest came on 10″ Spin Doctors/Spin-N-Glos on our riggers bouncing bottom and one high wire diver. We left the high wire diver on that took a King and dropped it back to 170 feet. It went near the end of our trip and took a good size Coho. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull our Morgan’s Tackle copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
