Another beautiful Lake Michigan day. We set up in 85 feet of water and trolled north. It didn’t take long before we took our first fish. A Trout hit our port low wire with an 8″ Lake Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig. That rod has one of the first rods to go for several trips now. A high wire diver with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/White Pink Dot Spin-N-Glow was good too. The water was colder today. Our Fish Hawk was reading 43 degrees with the probe down 75 feet. We took a 5 or 6 pound King and a Laker on a 225 copper with a mag Dreamweaver Green Skinny Jeans. We had an 8″ White Slick Blue Bubble /Blue Bubble Action Fly on a 250 copper. I had to make a sharp turn and thought it may have hit bottom. I brought it up to check it and decided to swap it out for an 8″ Green Bikini Bottom Spin Doctor/Liquid Sunshine Action Fly, pictured below. It wasn’t out 10 minutes when it took off with a good fish on it. It turned out to be our biggest Laker of the trip. We took another Laker on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Red Laser spoon. The bite slowed later in the morning but we were still able to pick away and ended up with a nice box of fish.
