We set up two miles south of Ludington today in 90 feet of water and trolled south. We weren’t marking any fish so we moved out to 95 feet of water and ended up trolling between 95 and 105 feet of water on our south troll. We missed our first our first couple bites and the bites were coming slow. They started to pick up once we stayed between 100 and 110 feet of water. We trolled about a mile south of Pentwater before we turned back north. We moved out deeper to see if we could find a bigger class of fish. We picked up some fish in the deeper water but they were all about the same size as the fish we caught in a little shallower. We took a small King on a 7.5 color core on a Yeck Red Laser spoon. Our most consistent rig was an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew WhirlyGig on an out down bouncing bottom. We took two fish on a low wire diver with an 8″ Lake Trout Candy Spin Doctor/Chrome Blue WhirlyGig with Glow Wings. Our other low wire went twice with the same set up that was on our out down. Our chute rigger with an 8″ Chrome Spin Doctor/Wonder Bread WhirlyGig took fish too.
