We fished southwest of Ludington today setting up in 220 feet of water. There were big rollers on the lake but no white water when we were setting up. Before we were done setting up the wind picked up and we were seeing a lot of white water. We hit a big fish on our first board out. It hit a Super Slim Rasta Goose on a 5 color core. After a good fight it escaped. We took a Trout on a high Slide Diver out 85 on a SS Rasta Goose later in the morning. We took a Laker on the chute rigger down 75 with a mag DW UV Beefeater and took another Laker on a custom DW Raspberry Carbon free sliding above the Beefeater. We broke one off on that set up and lost both baits. The waves really got big and it was hard to control our speed. We had 2 board bites. One on the 5 color mentioned above and another on a 200 copper with a mag Carmel Dolphin. We took a King on and out down set at 55 ft. with a DW UV Super Bread and a SS UV Super Bread free sliding above it. It took the main bait. We had a DW UV Super Bread on a high Slide Diver out 125 and it took a Trout. We had a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on one low wire and a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the other. They both took bites. The Lake never laid down. We had a tough crew and they stuck it out for the whole trip.
