We headed north today hoping to duplicate our last two days action. What a difference a day makes. It didn’t happen. The down temp had warmed considerably, 55 degrees yesterday at 50 feet. Today 65 at 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. We trolled quite a distance from our starting point before our first bite. A big King hit our chute rigger set at 100 ft. with a 10″ Glow Blade White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. The meat rig some how got wrapped around the flasher and broke off near the back of the boat. a real heartbreaker. We talked to some other boats and it wasn’t happening for them either. We turned off the Bank and headed west. We hit a King , pictured above, on a 250 copper with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We were very happy to boat that one. We ended up changing about everything that had been working for us the last few days trying to get some more bites, but the last big King we caught came on a 225 copper with a 10″ Green Scale White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig. That one we didn’t change. One of the small fish, a Coho, came on a 7.5 color core with a Yeck Fireball and the other small King on the 250 copper with the Kevin’s Girlfriend/Pickled Sunshine Fly. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper on all our copper rods.
