We fished up north this morning and the bite was slow. It was light before we hit our first fish. It took a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Rig on an out down set at 45 feet. We had 3 of those rigs out and they all took a hit. Our second biggest King of the morning, 23.50 lbs., came on that rig on a 200 copper. Our biggest King, 25.60 lbs. came on a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Captains Choice Cut Plug on a 7 color core. We pretty much worked a mile either side of the Point trying to catch some big ones, but the bites were few and far between.
We decided to run our afternoon trip southwest of Ludington today. We set up in 190 feet of water(fow) and trolled northwest. We had good action with all of our hits coming in the top 60 feet. A regular size Dreamweaver Beefeater out 80 on a low wire was our best rod. A Yeck Fireball out 110 on a high wire was good too. A regular size Fuzzy Bear Yellow Tail on a 10 color was our best core.
