Due to all the boat pressure up north we fished south of Ludington Sunday morning. We set up in 80 feet of water (fow) and trolled south. We hit a couple fish on our high wire divers but weren’t marking many fish so we moved out deeper finally finding fish between 180 & 220 fow. Sunday afternoon we went back up north and started out deep in 320 fow and trolled east toward the bank. We didn’t have a bite until a little after 8:00 p.m. We hit 5 fish and boated 4 of them. This morning we went back up north and set up in 100 fow on the bank. The morning bite was slow. We took 3 fish there before we headed out to deeper water. We started hitting fish in 160 fow just south of the point. We worked southwest out to 300 fow and then back in northeast to 150 fow. We went back out there in the afternoon setting up in 300 fow and trolled back in to 150 fow and back out again. The wind picked up from the north west so making an in troll was tough. We had 8 bites and boated 3 fish. We have been running an 8″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig on one high wire starting it out at 130 and then dropping it back to 160 later in the morning. The other high wire has been a 10″ Chrome Killer/Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 150 early and then dropping it back to 180. We have been taking a lot of bites on our high wires. Both days the 10″ with the Green Gasoline has been getting more hits than the 8″ with the Green Moo. Our most consistent low wire rig has been a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Meat Rig. We have been starting it out 70 and then when it quits going dropping it back to 90 or lower. We’ve been trying to find a go to rig for the other low wire and the best lately has been a 10″ Showtime Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Meat Rig. We’ve been running it anywhere between 80 & 110 feet back. A big 11″ White Paddle with White Crush tape/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on the chute rigger has been the only rigger set up we can count on. We’ve been starting it at 65 feet and moving it down from there. Later in the morning we’ve been putting an 8″ Yellow Sparkle Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig down 48 ft. on an out down. It’s goes at least 2 times every trip. Small #3 plugs have been working good on our 5, 7.5 & 10 color cores. A Dreamweaver Natural Glow Captains Choice Cut Plug has been good on a 5 color first thing in the morning. The best #3 plugs for us have been Silver Horde Double Glows, Moldy Wonder Bread, & Pinkie. The #3 Chrome Redhead J-Plug has been good after daylight. Our best copper rig has been a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend/Green Mile Big Water Rig on a 200, 250 or 300 copper. We have also been running 8 & 10″ Chrome Killer Spin Doctor/Green Moo & Green Gasoline Dreamweaver Meat Rigs, 8 & 10″ Green or Yellow Sparkle Spin Doctors/UV On Ice or Green UV Big Water Meat Rigs, 8 & 10″ Chrome Kevorkian White Crush Spin Doctors/UV On Ice Big Water Meat Rigs and a few other Spin Doctor/meat rig combos on our coppers. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs.
