It was rough out there this morning when we set up in 105 feet of water. It was 50 degrees down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. We did all we could to discourage our group from going out in the big waves. They wanted to go so we went. First Mate Abe had just set his out down to 50 feet with a standard DW Super Bread as the main bait and a UV DW Super Bread free sliding when it took off with a big fish. We only had 3 rods in, but the King managed to get into our other out down and escape. Our starboard low wire Deeper Diver out 125 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig went twice. The starboard high wire diver out 150 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went twice too. The chute rigger with a Captain’s Choice Glow Black Ladderback Cut Plug set at 60 with a DW Green Hulk free sliding above it took our biggest King. It hit the plug.
We took a Steelhead on a 275 copper with a standard Green Hulk. A fish hit a Michigan Shiner Captain’s Choice Cut Plug set at 70 on an out down and got away. We took another Steelhead on a 10″ White Crush Green Scale Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig 100 out on a low wire Deeper Diver. It was too rough to take many pictures. Our crew partied hard last night and a few of them were under the weather. They had enough fun and called the trip a little before 9:00 a.m. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores and coppers with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
