We fished south of Ludington today setting up in 100 feet of water putting it on a west troll. Our first rod in was a 200 copper with a #3 Double Glow Black Ladder-Back Plug. It went before we had all our rigger rods set. It was hard to make any progress on the fish, so we backed down and put in both bags. The fish turned out to be a big Lake Trout. We took another fish on a 175 copper with an Orange Slice spoon. Our 250 copper took our third fish with a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice. That rod was one of our best again today, going several times. Our action slowed after the third fish. We marked a lot of bait and fish between 140 and 160 feet of water but didn’t get any bites there. We switched our troll to northwest and took a couple fish right away. Once we got north a ways, we put it on a southwest troll. The action was steady. All our coppers took fish. We took 2 more on the 200 with the plug. We switched it to a standard DW Rasta Goose, and it went several times. A 225 with a Bloody Nose was good. We took fish on our 275 with a mag glow spoon and on our 300 with a standard glow spoon. Our divers were quiet during most of the trip, but really came alive later in the morning. We had an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 190 on our port high #4 Deeper Diver and a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig out 90 on our port low #5 wire Diver. They both went 4 times. We had a mag Fuzzy Bear Orange Slice out 170 on our high #4 Deeper Diver and an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 145. We took 2 Steelhead on the high diver and took a mature King on the low wire and lost a big fish on it too. It was a lot of fun out there. We took a nice mixed bag of Kings, Coho, Steelhead and Lake Trout. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
