Fished north of Ludington today. Had all of our lines set in the dark. It was just breaking daylight when a Coho hit a 225 copper with a Captain’s Choice Green Black Ladder Back plug. Our chute rigger down 75 with an 11″ Black Crush DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took off with a big King. Our port low wire diver out 110 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly made it a triple and our starboard low wire with a 10″ White Crush Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly made it a quad. The Coho got into the chute rigger but we got it. We landed both the Kings on the low wires. After a long fight with the boat backed way down and both bags in the King on the chute rigger escaped. We reset the chute rigger with the big Black Paddle back down to 75 ft. and it fired again right away. It was another King and we boated it. Our 250 copper with the same Captain’s Choice Cut Plug that was on our 225 copper took a rip but didn’t hook up. After the action slowed we turned back south. We took a nice King on a 10 color core with a glow plug and lost a Lake Trout on the chute rigger. We only had 1 meat rig out most of the morning and didn’t have any bites on it. All 4 of our crew caught a 20 + lb. King and gave us a break by calling it a day a little early. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull our coppers and cores with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
