It was a little tougher bite out there today. We set up in the same area as yesterday and trolled west. Our 275 copper with a standard UV DW Beefeater took our first fish. We hit a big fish on our low wire #5 Deeper Diver with a mag Raspberry Carbon. It put up a good fight and ended up getting off. We had a lot of bites that didn’t hook up good. They would be on for a short time and then be gone. Our starboard out down with a pair of SS Green Hulks set at 55 went twice. The top bait was free sliding. Later in the morning we pulled the Green Hulks and put on a SS Rasta Goose down 45 and free slid a SS Spotted Starburst. It went 2 times and we didn’t get either one. We went back to running an 11″ White Slick Paddle stacked with a standard DW UV Wonder Bread spoon. It didn’t go for quite a while so we pulled it and found an 8 lb. Lake Trout riding on it. We had a fish take the stack later but didn’t get it. Our 225 copper with a Broken Nose went twice and the 275 with the standard Beefeater went three times. We lost a nice fish on our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 150 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our biggest King came on our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 170 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. No meat bites today. Our crew did a good job with the fish that were hooked up. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
