It was rough heading south this morning. We set up in 120 feet of water and put it on a 320 troll and worked our way out to deeper water. It was a slow start again today. We hit 2 fish on our coppers that didn’t stay hooked up before we took a King on a 225 copper with a Bloody Nose spoon. We took a small King on our starboard out down set at 45 feet with a SS Super Bread and another SS Super Bread stacked 8 feet above it. That out down was our best rigger going 4 times. Our best diver was a high wire #4 Deeper Diver out 150 with an 8″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We never went too long without some kind of action. We had several fish that hit, were on and didn’t stay on. Our coppers with mag spoons took a lot of bites. We had mag DW Beefeater spoons on our 225 coppers and mag Mongolian Beefs on 200 and 275 coppers. They all went more than once. Our 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly on a High wire #4 Deeper Diver out 170 only went once. Our port low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 85 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig went 3 times. Our starboard low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 100 had an 8″ DW Flip Fin Magic Man Paddle/Green Gasoline DW Meat Rig that went twice. We left one plug out all morning on a 175 copper and it took a King near the end of our trip. It was a Natural Glow Dreamweaver Captain’s Choice Cut Plug. The waves got big out in the deeper water. We just made one long troll and ended up about 7 miles northwest from where we started. We had a hardy crew that did a great job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle Copper and wire.
