Had to scratch yesterdays trip due to high winds and big waves. It looked like we would have to cancel todays trip as well. The Ludington Buoy was reading 3.2 feet when we left the dock. Our crew said they could handle the waves so we headed north. We set up 120 feet of water by the Bath House. Second rod in took a hit and we landed a good size Coho. We had Super Slim Green Skinny Jeans free sliding above DW Skinny Jeans on both our out downs. One was set at 45 and the other 55 . The Coho took the 45 down Super Slim. We missed a fish on the other out down. The big King pictured above took a Super Slim Rasta Goose on a 7.5 color core. It fought so hard we thought it was foul hooked. It wasn’t, just didn’t want to come to the boat. We took a smaller King on the out down set at 55. Then the action slowed considerably. Several boats pulled off the shelf and trolled out to deeper water. I gave two of them a call and they said it was dead out there too. So we turned back south and worked between 100 & 110 feet of water. We put a Trout rig on the bottom but didn’t get any takers . The water was cold, 40 degrees down 33 ft. on our Fish Hawk. We took 2 Lakers on a high wire diver out 129 with a 10″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Green Gasoline Meat Rig and our biggest Trout on an out down with a pair of Super Slim Lemon Lime spoons set at 45 feet. It took the slider. We lost a nice King on a high wire diver out 110 with a 10″ White UV Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble DW Meat Rig and missed one on a low wire out 85 with a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Vanilla Ice Big Water Meat Rig. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and pull our lead core and Morgan’s Tackle copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
