Shortest trip of the season this morning. We went north setting up just off the bank. The water was colder than we thought it would be. It was 40 degrees at 45 feet on our Fish Hawk. There were big rollers from the north and two of our charter group were under the weather as soon as we were setting up. We hit a big fish on a 7.5 color core with a Bloody Nose spoon. It was almost to the boat and was gone. When we reeled in the line, we found a straightened-out swivel. Our crew called the trip before we had all our rods set. We took the King pictured below on an out down set at 45 feet with a prototype standard DW Soda spoon. We took a smaller King on our other out down set at 45 with a Bloody Nose spoon. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
