The down temp was better this morning up north. It was 54 degrees on our Fish Hawk down 60 feet in 140 feet of water. There was a stiff wind out of the east, so it was hard to get a good north troll. The picture on our graph looked good, lots of bait and fish. We hit a triple just as it was getting light landing two of them. We landed a mature King on a Bloody Nose down 65 on an out down. Lost one on a 375 copper with a mag Beefeater and boated a small King on a 400 copper with a mag Flounder Pounder. We were seeing less bait and fish the further north we trolled. We hit one more fish on the out down with the Bloody Nose that we missed before we turned back south. We hit three fish on our south troll and landed one of them. We missed a fish on a low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 150 with a standard DW Spotted Blue Dolphin. We missed another one on the 375 copper with the mag Beefeater and took a King on the chute rigger down 110 with an 11″ DW White Slick Paddle stacked with a Wonder Bread spoon. The fish took the stack. We turned back south in the 00’s in 180 feet of water. We took a King on our starboard out down set at 110 with a pair of Super Slim Super Breads. We took two more fish on the chute rigger. The last one came 145 down. Both fish took the stack. The wind switched to the south and the down temp got warmer. It kept getting warmer all morning. When we pulled lines, it was 68 degrees down 90 feet in 240 feet of water. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper and wire.
