Got off to a slow start this morning up north. Our Fish Hawk showed 68 degrees down 100 feet. The graph looked good, lots of fish and bait. It was full daylight, and we still did not have a bite. We finally took a King on a 400 copper on a mag Beefeater. We hit a fish on the chute rigger down 150 with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We missed that one. We lowered it down later in the morning to 180 feet. It went two times there and we boated a nice King on it. We moved out deeper and had good action between 400 and 500 feet of water. Our best rod was an out down set at 135 with a pair of Super Slim Green Hulks. They went 5 times. The last time it went we had a double on the same rod, 2 Lakers. We took another double on the same rod on our starboard out down set a 110 with a pair of Blue Flounder Pounders. We tried a south troll, but it sucked. The waves were big, so we turned back north and had a good downwind troll. Our port high wire #4 Deeper Diver with a DW Green Dragon Slayer Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly out 315 took a big Coho and a Steelhead. We had the same set up on our starboard low wire #5 Deeper Diver out 220 and took a Steelhead on it. We took fish on mag spoons on our 375, 400, 450 and 500 coppers. The waves were big, our crew held up well and did a great job on the rods. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s copper and wire.
