The forecast called for 1-to-3-foot waves out of the north. They were wrong. They were all of 4-to-6-foot waves when we set up in the 59’s in 240 feet of water. The temp reading on our Fish Hawk was 62 degrees down 110 feet. We hit 2 fish right away. The first was on a pair of Super Slim Green Hulks down 135 on our port out down. The second was on a pair of Soda spoons down 120 on our other out down. Both riggers went several times, but the out down with the Super Slim Green Hulks was our best rod. We had 3 bites on the chute rigger down 140 with a pair of Soda spoons. We took a King on our port high wire #4 wire diver out 415 with an 8″ Flip Fin Green Dragon Slayer Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We took another King on our low #5 wire diver out 315 with an 8″ Flip Fin Megatron Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We had the fins deployed on our Flip Fin Paddles. We took a King on a 500 copper with a standard UV DW Beefeater spoon. We took fish on 375 & 450 coppers with mag spoons. I think the water was the roughest we have fished in this year. We have used Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire all season. Today was our last trip for the 2022 season. If the Good Lord is willing, we will continue our reports in the 2023 season.
