We fished north today setting up on the bank. They were predicting big waves today, but it wasn’t too bad on our first pass. We hit our first fish on a low wire #4 Deeper Diver out 160 on a mag Raspberry Carbon. It was a big King that we lost at the back of the boat. Then we hit a double that turned into a quad. The chute rigger down 85 with an 11″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a mag Fuzzy Bear Yellowtail was first then a Wonder Bread Captain’s Choice Cut Plug down 75 went. A 225 copper with a Green Splatter Back Captain’s Choice Cut Plug and another Captain’s Choice Wonder Bread down 80 on a rigger went. It was chaos. We landed 3 of the 4 fish on. Those Wonder Bread Cut Plugs each went twice. Our Paddle down the chute went 4 times, 3 on the Paddle and once on the stack. We had one meat rig out 150 on a #5 Deeper Diver low wire. It was a 10″ White Crush Black Dot Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Dreamweaver Meat Rig. It went once taking a big King for us. The fish was hooked in the side and took forever to land. We made a long downwind troll turning back south about mile and a half north of the point. Our 275 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Slice went twice on our up-wind troll and we didn’t boat either one. The waves were much bigger on the south troll. We took a King on a High Wire #4 Deeper Diver out 250 with a 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Our crew did a good job on the rods under difficult conditions, and they held up well in the rough water. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire.
