Tough day, we set up in 110 feet of water just north of the weather buoy. The water was warm, 62 surface-57 80 feet. We trolled northwest. The picture on the graph looked pretty good. The deeper we got the down temp cooled, but no bites. At 210 feet of water we turned on an in troll. The farther in we trolled the down temp started to warm, so we turned back on the northwest troll. We finally took a nice Steelhead in 220 feet of water on a low wire Deeper Diver out 200 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We had a tug on a Slide Diver out 125 with a Gold Yeck Fireball. A fish hit a low wire Deeper Diver out 185 with an 8″ Chrome Two Face Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine action Fly. It striped out 6 feet of wire and was gone. We missed a fish on the chute rigger down 125 with an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. We hit a big Steelhead on a standard orange glow spoon down 110 on an out down. It put on a good show before it threw the hook. We had another bite on the same spoon but it didn’t hook up. We covered a lot of water this morning without much to show for it. The water looked good but we couldn’t get the fish to cooperate. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire and pull our lead cores and copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
