We set up in 70 feet of water. Surface temp was 61 degrees. It was 48 degrees down 50 feet on our Fish Hawk. Our riggers and divers were set and we were letting out our first boards when a low wire diver out 110 with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Dreamweaver Meat Rig took off. We had two young boys on the trip and the adults wanted to see the boys catch a fish. From the way the fish ran and was fighting we figured it was foul hooked. After a long fight the young man landed the King. While that fish was on we hit a fish on a low wire diver out 100 with an 8″ White Crush Wonder Bread Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. That one got away. I got a call from a friend that was doing good at the pierheads. We weren’t that far away so we decided to pull our remaining lines and run back there. When we pulled our starboard out down set at 55 a Jack King hit the mag Dreamweaver UV Beefeater that was the bottom bait. It was just the right size for the youngest boy, and he landed it. We set up in 40 feet of water south of the pier. We hit a fish on a 7.5 color core on a #3 Gray Ghost Plug. After a short fight it broke off. We hit one more fish before the 5 hour trip was over. The older boy boated a King on an out down set at 16 with a #3 Lucky Charms Plug. Not sure if the old saying ” Don’t leave fish to find fish ” applies here but I have a feeling it does. We use Dreamweaver Premium Strips in all our meat rigs and Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire. We pull our lead cores and copper with Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.
