We had to cancel our morning trip yesterday due to the storm that came through. The Lake laid down in the afternoon so ran our p.m. up north. The fishing was good. We had a two person charter so with 1st mate Kevin and me we could only run 12 rods. We had Spin Doctors and Big Water Meat rigs on 11 of them. We set up south of the bath house and trolled north to the Point. We hit fish right away and had good action for the whole trip. One of our low wires out 105 with a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/Blue Moo Big Water Meat Rig went 5 times. Our other hot set up was the other low wire out 120 with a 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Big Water Rig. It went 4 times. Our high wire divers were a Kevin’s Girlfriend Rig and a 10″ UV Purple Sparkler/Purple UV Big Water Rig. Most of our early action came on our divers. Toward the end of the trip we started getting bites on our coppers. A 10″ Chrome NBK Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Big Water Rig on a 300 copper was hot. An 8″ UV Yellow Sparkler Spin Doctor/Green UV Big Water Meat Rig on a 200 copper went twice. Our only rod that didn’t have a meat rig on it was a 150 copper with a Captains Choice Michigan Shiner Cut Plug. We took 1 fish on it.
We headed back up north for our morning trip today and set up in the same general area as last night. We hit 8 fish on our first pass and only boated 2 of them. One got into our low wire diver and broke off. The other 5 just got off. After that first pass our action slowed. You can see by the picture above the fish we did land we mostly jumbos. Our biggest today was a 25.50 lb. King. Six of our fish weighed over 20 lbs. A 10″ Kevin’s Girlfriend Spin Doctor/Green Mile Rig set at 45 ft. on an out down went 4 times. Our hot diver was high wire out 170 with a 10″ Show Time Spin Doctor/ Blue Moo Big Water Rig. Our 200 copper with the UV Yellow Sparkler/Green UV Meat rig took 2 fish. A 10″ Chrome Kevorkian Spin Doctor/UV On Ice Big Water Rig went once and a 300 copper with a 10″ Chrome NBK Mountain Dew Spin Doctor/Moo Moo Meat Rig took our biggest fish of the day.
