Ludington Area Fishing Reports

They wanted the small plugs this morning. We had a 2 person charter so we could only run 12 rods. Our port side had a 5 color core with a Pink Dot DW Mini Plug. It went once. Port 7.5 core went 1 time with a Mini Wonder Bread DW Plug. Port 10 color went 1 time with a Mag Hot Blueberry Muffin Warrior Spoon. Starboard 7.5 core went 1 time with a Natural Glow DW Mini Plug. Starboard 10 color went 1 time with a Mini Pink Sides DW Plug. Starboard out down set at 35 went twice with a Mini Soda DW Plug. We ran a full size DW Natural Glow Plug on our chute rigger set at 65, but it didn’t go. Starboard High Wire Ninja Diver out 110 went once with a Pink Sides Mini DW Plug. Port high wire Ninja Diver out 110 went twice with an 8″ White Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver out 85 went 3 times with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly. We moved out to deeper water and swapped out the chute rigger plug for an 11″ White Slick DW Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly stacked with a Half Wonder Bread SS Spoon. It went once set at 85. The King took the stack. Our low wire out 128 with an 8″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/Isotope DW Meat Rig took a big King. We were pulling lines when our starboard high Ninja Diver out 170 went with an 8″ White Crush Green Dot Silver back Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. That fish got away. It was a fun trip, and our crew did good on the rods.

Crazy good action this morning. Must have been the threat of a storm. No time for pictures. Will try to recap the bites. Port 7.5 went 3 times with a Mini Natural Glow DW Cut Plug. Port 10 color went 2 times early with a Mini Pink Dot DW Cut Plug and 1 time later with a DW Hot Tamalie Spoon.  Port 250 copper went once with a Mini Wonder Bread DW Cut Plug. Once with a 5″ Natural Glow DW Cut Plug and later once with a Black Glow Spoon. Later a 300 copper with a White Charlie Special Flip Fin Paddle/Purple Mirage Action Fly took a big King. Port high Ninja Diver out 150 went several times with an 8″ White Slick Flip Fin Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Port low wire diver out 100 went at least 5 times with an 8″ Blue Bubble Spin Doctor/Blue Bubble Action Fly and 1 time later out 150. Port out down with a Mini DW Soda Cut Plug set at 55 went 4 times. Starboard out down set at 50 went 3 times with a Mini Soda DW Cut Plug and 1 time with a 5″ Soda DW Cut Plug. Later down 100 it went 1 time with an 8″ White Crush Silver Back Flip Fin Paddle/Green Crinkle Fly. The chute rigger set at 65 with a Natural Glow DW Cut Plug went at least 3 times. Later with a 11″ Black Slick Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly went 3 times down 85 and 1 time down 125. Starboard 7.5 went 2 times with a Mini Pink Dot DW Cut Plug. Starboard 10 color went 1 time with a Natural Glow DW Cut Plug. Starboard 275 1 time with a Mini Natural Glow DW Cut Plug. Starboard 275 1 time with a Mini DW Wonder Bread Cut Plug. Later starboard 325 copper took a King on an 8″ Blue Dragon Slayer Flip Fin Paddle/Glow Blue Bubble Fly. Starboard high Ninja Diver out 125 went 2 times with a Mini Pink Sides DW Cut Plug and 3 times out 235 with an 8″ White Crush Green Dot Silver Back Paddle/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly. Starboard low wire out 150 went 1 time with an 8″ Black Slick Spin Doctor/Isotope DW Meat Rig. That is all the bites Co-Captain Abe and I can recall. It was a good morning to be running Dreamweaver Mini Cut Plugs and full-size Captain’s Choice Cut Plugs.
