Slow fishing again today. The Lake was calm, a little rain & fog. Looked like ideal conditions for King fishing. The fishing was good, but the catching not so good. The surface temp was 60.5, temp at 70 feet was 54 on our Fish Hawk. We hit a fish on a 10 color core with a standard size Soda spoon before we had all our lines set. It got off. We lost another small fish on that set up a little later. We took a small King on a 7.5 with a Yeck Gold Fireball. Our biggest fish came on a 275 copper with a mag Fuzzy Bear Green Slice. Caught a Laker on a 10 color core with a SS Half Bloody Nose with homemade black dots.
Took another Laker on the chute rigger bouncing bottom with a custom 8″ Spin Doctor/Mountain Dew Chrome WhirlyGig. Took a rip on a 350 copper with a Glow Spoon. Our port out down set at 80 with a pair of SS Sodas went twice. We missed the first one and landed a small King on the stack. We use Morgan’s Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Deeper Divers, and Dreamweaver Ninja Boards.

Tough day for us this morning. We set up in 140 feet of water. Surface temp was 58.9 and it was 5.6 down 60 feet on our Fish Hawk. We didn’t have all our rods set when a low wire diver creeping out with an 8″ White Slick Spin Doctor/Pickled Sunshine Action Fly took off. The King on the end was pretty spunky. It got into a couple other lines, but we
managed boat him. Shortly after boating the King a 7.5 color core with an SS Gold Starburst got hit. It was a Laker. That was the extent of our action until we were pulling lines and discovered a small King hitch hiking on our 5 color core with a Gold Double Orange Crush. We ran a lot of different spoon, flashers & meat rigs but couldn’t get a fish to bite one of them. The Lake was rough, and the upwind troll was
brutal. We had a very good crew. No one got sick and we didn’t hear any complaints about the lack of action. We use Morgans Tackle copper and wire, Dreamweaver Ninja Boards, and Dreamweaver Deeper Divers.
